“In accordance with the provision of Section 40(2) of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission Act, 2018, I write to forward for the confirmation by the Senate, the following seven (7) nominees as Chairman and members of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission Tribunal.

The Senator representing Adamawa North in the 9th Assembly, Ishaku Abbo moved for speedy confirmation of Duhu based on the integrity of the nominee.

Abbo said

“The person standing before us is my constituent, I have known him over the years, for many many years. I have known him to be humbe, I have known him to be hardworking, I known him to be a man of character. Character in the sense, on the fact that since I have known him in politics, he has been focused”.

“In fact, let me put it straight, there was nothing we didn’t do to bring to PDP, he refused. Even that we promised him a ticket in PDP, he said ‘he is in APP and would continue to be a member’. He never left where he stood, even when governments invited him.”

Abbo emphasised,

“I have known him as a man of Character, I have known him to be a policy keeper, and I have known him to be a man that is focused”.

While suggesting the lawmaker said,

“Honourable Duhu deserve a better place from Mr. President considering his loyalty to the party. I remember when you formed APC that time, You remained there; without appointment you remained in APC.”

“As the earlier vice chairman of the Northeast APC, you built the party in the six northeasten states of Nigeria, and it still remains strong. Loyalty pays, patience pays and I believe where you’re starting today is just a starting point for you. I believe the next dispensation would be the Minister of Trade and Investment (as he smiles)”.
