Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum
Zulum said he was delighted that, for the first time in 11 years, there seemed to progress in monitoring some of the sect’s financiers.
The Governor lamented that Boko Haram had killed thousands of people, displaced millions and destroyed billions of Naira worth of private and public property.
He noted that, if authenticated, such intelligence would be used to extend searches within and outside Nigeria for other Boko Haram sponsors.
Zulum proposed that team members be drawn from, among others, the Ministries of Justice and Foreign Affairs, the National Intelligence Agency, the Defence Intelligence Agency, the International Joint Task Force, and ECOWAS.
